Ghana health service launches newsletter

The Ghana Health Service (GHS) on Thursday launched its corporate newsletter aimed at building relationships and maintaining regular contact with the general public.

The “HealthScope” is a quarterly educative masterpiece full of health-related articles and stories put together by the GHS to reach out to the public and educate them on typical health issues that called for concerns.

Launching the bulletin on behalf of Dr Victor Bampoe, Deputy Minister for Health, Dr Gloria Quansah Asare, deputy director general of the GHS, believes the latest development would go a long way to increase the knowledge of the populace in health issues and help them to live a healthy lifestyle to prevent them from avoidable and needless deaths.

“We hope that this will go a long way to educate the public to be health conscious and practice good personal hygiene,” he said.

The maiden edition provides articles on diseases like Ebola, Cholera etc and how they can be prevented.

The service also revived its monthly health promotion program, a community relations activity of the service which aims at educating the citizenry about preventive healthcare.

The January promotion was on cholera which remains a major public health challenge in Ghana. Enditem
