The Ghana National Medical Excellence Awards (GNMEA) And The National Thank You Day for Ghanaian Healthcare Delivery Personnel (NTYD-GHDP) have been slated for 25th November 2022 as part of efforts to help celebrate Ghanaian healthcare personnel for their enormous contribution toward quality healthcare delivery in the country.
This year’s awards which mark the 8th edition is themed: “Healthcare Delivery in Ghana the Role of the Health Personnel in Quality Delivery.”
A statement issued by GNMEA-NTYD and signed by Precious Afi Tunu the Head of Resource Mobilization-GNMEA-NTYD stated that it earmarked the last Friday of each month of November as the National Thank You Day for our Ghanaian Healthcare Delivery Personnel with a mandate letter from Ghana Health Service to intensify sensitization across the facilities.
The award receives nominations from public and private facilities across the country per the circulated criteria and categories.
Nominations received are put through various selection scrutiny to reduce the numbers to a sizeable number that allows private researchers to visit their places of work unannounced to further undergo background search including training and qualification, peer and staff relationship and patient relationships and outcome of practice and legal judgment, morals, and ethics, punctuality, alertness to duty.
These potential winners are invited with their relatives and facility representatives to receive the awards on the night at the Statehouse.
This initiative forms part of our continual effort of celebrating our healthcare delivery personnel each year for standing tall to save lives as the world grappled with the covid19 pandemic.
During this battle, healthcare personnel acted as frontlines even though some lost their lives in the process.
The statement however entreated all and sundry especially corporate bodies to contribute towards the cause in order to make the occasion a remarkable one.
