The Ghana Navy has boosted its patrol capacity on territorial waters, taking delivery of four new patrol vessels for multipurpose use on the seas.

The four vessels will augment the navy’s capacity to protect the country’s oil resource at the Jubilee fields, Flag Officer Commanding the Western Naval Command, Commodore Timothy Appiah said when he confirmed the delivery.
Among other purposes the vessels will be used for fishery controls and the protection of the country’s maritime boundaries.
The vessels have speed capacities of up to 25 knots and equipped with machine guns.
