Ghana will meet Portugal in the second round stage of the FIFA U-20 World Cup after progressing as one of four third-place sides. The Black Satellites will play the Portuguese, who finished tops in Group B in Kayseri on Wednesday, July 3. Despite placing third in Group A with three points, Ghana?s superior number of goals scored secured them a place in the knock-out stages as one of the four best-placed sides who finished in third. Ghana, world champions in 2009 and Nigeria are the only African sides remaining in the competition, which will end on July 13 in Turkey. After a slow start which saw the Black Satellites lose their two opening Group A fixtures to France and Spain, Sellas Tetteh?s side recovered to defeat the United States, a win that boosted their chances of reaching the knock-out stages.
