The Ghana Police Service arrested a suspect on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, concerning a shooting incident during the Awubia Festival in Bereku, Central Region.
The suspect, Nai Akwasi Lartey, allegedly fired a pump-action gun, injuring one person.
The victim, who is in a stable condition, has been hospitalized and is receiving medical treatment.
Authorities have successfully recovered the pump-action gun and several BB cartridges from Lartey, ensuring that the weapon is no longer a threat to the community.
He is currently in police custody and is fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation, which is progressing smoothly.
