The Ghana Police Service has launched an investigation into an attack on Joana Gyan, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary candidate for Amenfi Central, and her team.
The incident occurred on the night of Saturday, November 30, when Gyan and her team were returning from a political rally.
While Gyan managed to escape unharmed, several members of her team sustained varying degrees of injury. According to the police, their preliminary investigation suggests that the incident began when a vehicle was parked in the middle of the road at Adjakaa Manso. Some members of Gyan’s team confronted the driver, which led to a misunderstanding. The situation escalated as a group of local residents became involved, resulting in two individuals being injured during the altercation.
The police are currently working to gather more details and bring clarity to the circumstances surrounding the incident.
