wpid-wpid-Ghana-Police1.jpgPolice Man: Massa, park, park. (Sits in my car)
Franklin: Good morning. How can I be of help today?
Police Man: Your road worthy sticker has expired.
Franklin: Really? What date is on there?
Police Man: 7-03-2014
Franklin: But today is March 12? I thought the sticker date is July 3?
Police Man: Is it your date or Ghana’s date?
Franklin: Errrm American style.
Policeman: But we are in Ghana? Not America.
Franklin: Are you saying American dates and American people don’t know how to write dates?
Policeman: No, I am not saying that. Okay, Okay, when was Ghana’s Independence Day?
Franklin: March 6th 1957.
Policeman: I mean when last did we celebrate the Independence Day?
Franklin: This year.
Policeman: No, I mean, like weeks, months, days..not year.
Franklin: Last Week.
Policeman: So, didn’t you know that your road worthy sticker had expired after independence day?
Franklin: But it is just a day, what is the connection to my road worthy sticker?
Policeman: Because every one knows and celebrates that day.
Franklin: Sorry, I didn’t celebrate the day. I was working.
Policeman: What work do you do?
Franklin: I harass politicians to make sure they deliver on their promises.
Policeman: That is a difficult job. You do this everyday?
Franklin: Yes. In fact I’m on my way to harass a few of them .
Policeman: Okay, Massa. Carry on. Have a nice day, but change the date on your road worthy sticker. We are in Ghana, not America.
Franklin: Bye bye bye.
