The stage is set for an electrifying night of boxing as Nana’s Promotions presents “Redemption Fight Night” this Friday at Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra.

The event, which features a headline bout for the UBO Africa Super Flyweight title between Theo Lopez Allotey and David Tagoe, follows successful weigh-ins and medical examinations conducted Thursday at Sunset Beach Resort.

Allotey, trained by renowned coach Dr. Ofori Asare, enters the ring with confidence. “We’ve prepared meticulously for this moment,” Asare told reporters. “Theo is in peak condition to deliver a performance that will position him for bigger opportunities.” His opponent, Tagoe, known as “The One,” countered with equal determination, promising fans an unforgettable showdown.

The undercard matches add depth to the event, featuring Cameroon’s Tamba Merlin against Ghana Armed Forces boxer David Akankolim Bawah in a cruiserweight contest. Other bouts include Ernest Ampah versus Abdul Rashid Tagoe and an exhibition match with UK-based Kelvin Oduro. Local favorites Michael Ansah and Jessie Lartey complete the fight card in separate matchups.

Promoter Augustus Dodoo confirmed all logistical preparations are complete, with tickets available for GH¢25 at advance sale points including the Ghana Boxing Authority office, rising to GH¢50 at the gate on fight night. The event marks another chapter in Accra’s rich boxing tradition, offering rising talents a platform to showcase their skills while giving fans a night of high-level competition.

Boxing enthusiasts recall how similar events have launched Ghanaian fighters onto the global stage in recent years. With the Bukom Boxing Arena known for its vibrant atmosphere, Friday’s matches could produce the next wave of continental contenders while reinforcing Ghana’s position as a regional hub for the sport. The combination of emerging talent and experienced campaigners on the card suggests an evening that will satisfy both casual observers and dedicated followers of African boxing.
