The Ghana rugby needs strong financing to survive, the president of the Ghana Rugby Union Herbert Mensah has said.
He described the situation where the President had to finance the union as unsustainable and must be changed.
These were contained in the statement issued after the end of the just-ended Ghana Rugby Stakeholders Congress (GRCS).
“The stakeholders of Ghana will have to find a solution in 2020 to change the funding model of the union, or the union may be heading for a disaster,” Mensah said.
About 45 stakeholders in the Ghanaian rugby fraternity, including the representatives from the regional associations and their members and clubs, attended the jut ended GRSC in the Ghanaian capital.
The major issue dominating the discussions was the ability of the union’ to fund its operations in light of the increased demands brought about by the rapid development of the sport in the country. Enditem
