Ghana has named an ultra-defensive starting line-up to face Ivory Coast with talented star Joel Fameyeh as the lone striker for Friday afternoon’s second-leg of the final qualifiers for the 2016 African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Abidjan.

Local Black Stars head coach Maxwell Konadu will deploy the 4-2-3-1 formation for the game at Robert-Champroux Sports Stadium in Abidjan which kicks off at 3:30pm Ghana time.

Regular centre-back Baba Mensah as been moved to the heart of midfielder to partner Hearts of Oak’s talented midfielder Sabahn Laryea.

Intelligent centre back Lawrence Lartey will be partnered at the heart of defence by towering Abeiku Ainooson as Konadu seeks to protect his lead in first leg.

It is clear talented Joel Fameyeh will be the loner striker showing that the Local Black Stars will be relying on swift counter attacks with the Ivorian forced to open up play unlike what they did in the first leg.

Konadu’s defensive approach to the game will also see Daniel Darkwah, Kennedy Ashia  and Samuel Tetteh take up the attacking midfield role.

The team will be protected at the back by Godfred Saka, Tijani Joshua while Richard Ofori takes the post.

Joel Fameyeh will lead the attack.
