Ghana U-20 captain Lawrence Lartey has welcomed the appointment of Sellas Tetteh.

The ex coach of Rwanda was made the substantive head of the Black Satellites? technical team as a replacement for Maxwell Konadu.

Konadu had led the team to qualify for the African Youth Championships to be hosted next year in Algeria as the interim boss.

He is however unable to preferably carry on with the job due to his commitments with the Black Stars where he is the assistant to coach Akwasi Appiah.

As a result, Tetteh who steered the Black Satellites to a historic treble in 2009 has been handed permanent reigns of the team and will be leading the side to Algeria.

And Lartey says it is a welcoming appointment as the former Liberty Professionals coach can help immensely with his proven record in the competition.

?I am happy with the appointment of Sellas Tetteh, he has done it before at this level so I believe he can do it again,? he said.

?I as a captain welcome him as he becomes our father and I believe all the players are ready to work with him.?

Ghana is drawn in Group A and will face hosts Algeria, Benin and Egypt.

The first two teams from the group will automatically qualify for the World Cup later next year in Turkey.
