Ghanaian actor Drogba, known for his role in the popular TV series YOLO, has revealed that he is currently dependent on a breathing machine due to a diagnosis of sleep apnea.

In a heartfelt Instagram update on August 9, Drogba explained that sleep apnea, a disorder where breathing is repeatedly interrupted during sleep, has necessitated using a CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) machine.

This device helps keep his airways open during sleep, ensuring he receives adequate oxygen.

Drogba’s condition is compounded by a previously diagnosed case of demyelination, a neurological disorder.

He has been undergoing treatment for several months and is urgently scheduled to continue his care abroad.

In his social media post, Drogba vividly detailed the impacts of sleep apnea, which include poor sleep quality, extreme fatigue, and potential long-term health issues, all of which significantly affect his daily life.

He also mentioned the upcoming need for IVIG (Intravenous Immunoglobulin) Therapy, a costly treatment adding to his financial strain.

To support his ongoing treatment, Drogba has appealed to the public for financial assistance.

Donations can be made via Access Bank to the account name John Bredu Peasah, account number 0441628321091, or through mobile money at 0501203871 and 0535934031 under the name John Bredu Peasah. Your support, no matter how small, can make a significant difference in Drogba’s fight against his health issues.

While Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has promised financial support to Drogba, he has yet to receive these funds.

Despite the significant physical and financial challenges, Drogba remains resolute and determined in his fight against his health issues, serving as an inspiration to many.
