The News Agency of Morocco or Agence Marocaine de Presse (MAP), and the Italian News Agency or Agenzia Giornalistica Italia (AGI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that will allow for joint activities and shared services aimed at strengthening the ties between Italy and Morocco,
The collaboration is also expected to increase the value of both agencies.
The General Manager of MAP, Mr Khalil Hachimi Idrissi, and the CEO of AGI, Mr Gianni Di Giovanni signed the agreement at a ceremony in Rome on Friday. Present at the occasion was the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Italy, H.E. Hassan Abouyoub,
A release from the Italian News Agency made available to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) said the agreement ?defines the will of both MAP and AGI to cooperate in the editorial production, both in primary information production and in integrated communication activities, as well as in joint professional training activities and in event organization.?
The release quoted Mr Idrissi as saying: ?The signing of the memorandum between the two institutions should contribute to strengthening relations between AGI and MAP in order to develop partnerships. The exchange of experiences and best practices between the two institutions in terms of information exchange and training in the profits of their staff has been planned for the five next years.?
AGI?s CEO, Mr Di Giovanni, declared: ?AGI always devoted great attention to news from the Arab world and the African context, with the goal of supporting Italy?s political and economic system in the dialogue with countries that show special complementarities and integration abilities with our Country.
?In this sense, Morocco is an ideal partner, with its strong and stable institutions, and for its opening to the economic dialogue with Italian businesses. We are confident that this partnership with MAP will allow us to play this role of support and stimulus in a more effective way?.
