Ghanaian President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has released a 13-member backroom staff less than two weeks after his inauguration into his second term, said a statement released by the Presidency late Tuesday.
The backroom staff includes the former and first female chief of staff in the country Akosua Frema Osei-Opare and many others who worked with the president in his first term.
“The appointees are to undertake their duties in acting capacities subject to consultations with the yet-to-be constituted Council of State,” the statement said.
Nana Akufo-Addo was declared the winner in the 2020 presidential election on Dec. 7 and was sworn into office on Jan. 7 to commence his second term of four years.
