The upcoming 14th Korean Ambassador’s Taekwondo Championships, slated for July 27, 2024, at the Trust Sports Emporium in Accra, will serve as a pivotal platform for selecting and training junior athletes aiming for the Youth Olympics Games in Senegal 2026.
The inter-regional championships, organized by the Ghana Taekwondo Federation (GTF) and generously sponsored by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, will feature athletes aged 13 to 17 competing in the Kyorugi and Poomsae disciplines.
Athletes will vie for medals across five weight categories per gender in both junior and cadet Kyorugi, competing not only for honours but also for selection and the prestigious title of the overall best athlete.
Registration for the 14th KAC opened on June 20 exclusively to Ghana Taekwondo registered athletes and closes promptly at midnight on July 15, 2024. A Referees Seminar is also scheduled for July 15, 2024, at the Korean Sports Complex to ensure smooth and fair competition.
The themed ‘Mission to Senegal 2026 Junior Olympics’ promises intense competition among athletes representing Ghana’s ten regions, with the overall best region title up for grabs.
To facilitate easy transportation for participants and coaches, organizers have arranged a dedicated bus service to convey them to and from the venue, ensuring convenience and logistical ease.
