The number of people infected with the novel coronavirus in Ghana has increased to 12,929 as of Thursday as officials confirmed 339 new cases, said the Ghana Health Service (GHS).

The director for public health at the GHS Badu Sarkodie said at a press briefing that the number of recovered cases had increased to 4,468, while the number of deaths remained at 66.

The West African country had carried out a total of 261,319 tests.

Ghana’s entry points have remained closed to inbound traffic since March to prevent further importation of the pandemic. Enditem
