Kennedy Agyapong, Member of Parliament for Assin Central, has called on the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) to confront and acknowledge Ghana’s current economic difficulties as part of its strategy for the upcoming 2024 General Elections.
At the launch of the NPP’s election campaign for the Ablekuma South Constituency, Agyapong stressed the importance of humility and transparency in the party’s approach.
He urged the NPP to openly apologize to the Ghanaian people for the economic hardships they have endured and to admit any mistakes made by the administration.
“Let’s go out there with humility, apologize to Ghanaians, and admit our mistakes before we can convince anybody to vote for us,” Agyapong said.
He emphasized that recognizing the economic struggles is crucial for regaining public trust and support.
Agyapong also expressed confidence in the party’s ability to overcome current challenges, asserting that acknowledging past errors and demonstrating learned lessons would be vital in securing victory in the December 7 elections.
He reiterated his commitment to support Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP’s flagbearer, in the campaign.
“We are all not going to sit back; we will all support Dr Bawumia to win,” Agyapong added, reinforcing the party’s unified effort towards electoral success.
