Villa Monticello is the only West African Hotel in the 2017 World Travel Awards – Africa’s Leading Boutique Hotel Category

For the second year in a row, Villa Monticello, Ghana’s premier luxury boutique hotel is the only West African based hotel to be nominated in the Africa’s Leading Boutique Hotel category for the 2017 World Travel Awards (WTA), considered the “Oscars” of the travel industry. The WTA aims to celebrate travel and hospitality organizations who push the boundaries of industry excellence.

In addition to it’s nomination as Africa’s Leading Boutique Hotel, Villa Monticello has also been nominated for 3 other awards that include Ghana’s Leading Boutique Hotel, Ghana’s Leading Hotel and Ghana’s Leading Hotel Suite.

Each of Villa Monticello’s 16 luxury suites is inspired by a different international city or personality which is uniquely reflected in the design and decor including Manhattan, Provence and Marrekesh and several rooms which pay homage to Ghana’s rich history and tradition such as Elmina, Nzulezu and the Kwame Nkrumah Presidential Suite (nominated Ghana’s Leading Hotel Suite). Villa Monticello also boasts four meeting rooms to accommodate both intimate and larger business meetings and private gatherings, a state of the art gym and recently opened Courtyard for tranquil lounging.

“The idea for Villa Monticello came about through a desire to create an establishment that paralleled some of the international 5 star niche boutique hotels that we loved in cities around the world, where luxury and service were not mutually exclusive,” shares Anita Ottenhoff, Villa Monticello’s Deputy General Manager.

Since opening in 2011, international hospitality and design industry vanguards in addition to World Travel Awards have included Conde Nast Johanssens, Elle Decoration UK, and Trip Advisor have recognized Villa Monticello for its world class service, exceptional design and fine dining restaurant, Chapter One.
