The management of the Ghana Institute of Journalism has canceled its second day of the end-of-semester examination slated for today, May 24, 2022, due to heavy rainfall in most areas in Accra.
The school’s SRC in conjunction with the management has released an official communique indicating the 24th of May examination is canceled until further notice.
In the same communique, they emphasized the new examination date will be communicated soon.
“Through the effectiveness of the SRC in ensuring that students’ interest remains paramount and the goodness of management, we are happy to inform the entire student populace of the postponement of today’s exams.
The postponement is due to the ravaging effect the rains have had on most of us and we as an SRC stand with you all each step of the way.
“A new date and time to sit for the paper will be communicated to students soon.” A portion of the communique read.
The heavy downpour in almost all the areas in Accra has inflicted many students who live far from the school’s campus with the ineptitude of meeting the scheduled examination time of 8 a.m.
Most students who live in areas like Osu, Kasoa, Kaneshie, and other flood zone areas have experienced overflow in their rooms and neighborhoods leaving them in misery.
Ghana institute of journalism began its end of the first-semester examination on Monday, May 23, 2022. Today would have been the second day of the examination.
