Sharon Ikeazor, the National Women Leader of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), has advised women in the country to participate actively in politics so as to assume their rightful place in the nation’s politics.
Ikeazor gave the advice in Abuja on Friday in an interview.
She said that women must intensify their participation in politics to enable them contribute to the political, social and economic development of the country.
The women leader appealed to governments at all levels to involve more women in decision-making to ensure equity and justice.
She stressed the need for Nigerians to be peaceful and united to enhance the nation’s development process.
She expressed her appreciation to some bold Nigerian women who had excelled in deepening democracy through their selfless efforts in nation building, adding that she was proud of their courage.
Ikeazor, who described Nigerian women as humble, intelligent and epitome of wisdom, appealed to them to judiciously use their God given qualities to build their various homes.
According to her, Nigerians must all come together to deal with the current challenges of insecurity, indiscipline and corruption in the country.
