Martin Forsyth, Vice President of International Projects and Strategic Partnerships at Global Citizen, has highlighted the organization’s commitment to deepening connections between local and international communities through its “Move Afrika: A Global Citizen Experience Tour in 2024.”

Following the success of Global Citizen events in Ghana and beyond, Forsyth discussed the initiative’s impact during an interview on Asaase 99.5’s Rush Hour with Elvis Crystal in Accra. He emphasized the significant economic benefits and job creation spurred by their projects, which employed over a thousand Ghanaians and engaged numerous local vendors across various sectors.

Reflecting on the success of the Global Citizen Festival in Accra and the subsequent Move Afrika launch in Kigali featuring Kendrick Lamar, Forsyth underscored the tour’s broader goals. Move Afrika aims to foster economic development, skill sharing, and entrepreneurship opportunities across Africa, leveraging international music tours to catalyze growth and investment.

Kojo Poku, Vice President of the Events and Meeting Professionals Association of Ghana (EMPAG) praised Global Citizen’s dedication to quality and innovation, noting their ability to adapt and deliver exceptional productions regardless of location.

The Move Afrika initiative continues to be a pivotal platform for promoting cultural exchange and economic empowerment, setting a precedent for impactful international engagements across the continent.
