Mr. Raphael Godlove Ahenu, the Founder and CEO of Global Media Foundation, has called on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to use the remaining 12 months in office to restore their tarnished political image. This can be achieved by prioritizing the implementation of practical measures aimed at alleviating the hardships faced by Ghanaians.

“It is crucial that your government takes immediate action to address the numerous economic challenges and social difficulties burdening our citizens due to poor governance by your administration,” Mr. Ahenu emphasized in his message.

He suggested that the Akuffo Addo government can take several concrete measures to reduce hardship and improve the well-being of its citizens. Some of these measures include strengthening social safety nets such as cash transfer programs, food assistance, and healthcare subsidies to provide relief for vulnerable populations and reduce poverty.

In the agricultural sector, the CEO noted that providing support to smallholder farmers through access to modern farming techniques, inputs, and markets can enhance food security and livelihoods in rural communities.

Regarding renewable energy initiatives, Mr. Ahenu highlighted that investing in renewable energy projects can help reduce energy costs, improve access to electricity, and mitigate the impact of climate change while creating employment opportunities in the green economy.

He also emphasized the importance of improving access to quality education and vocational training, enhancing educational infrastructure, expanding access to affordable healthcare services, and strengthening institutions, promoting transparency, and combating corruption.

Mr. Ahenu concluded by stating that implementing these targeted measures can help the government make significant strides in reducing hardship and fostering sustainable development for the benefit of all its citizens.

Addressing education, he stressed the significance of improving access to quality education and vocational training, along with enhancing educational infrastructure. These steps, he argued, would empower citizens with the skills needed to participate in the workforce and contribute to economic development.

Expanding healthcare access emerged as another key recommendation, with Mr. Ahenu urging the government to focus on making affordable healthcare services, preventive care, and essential medicines more accessible.

Additionally, he underscored the importance of good governance, anti-corruption efforts, and strengthening institutions to ensure equitable resource utilization.

Highlighting the need for infrastructure investment, including roads, public transportation, and utilities, Mr. Ahenu argued that such initiatives could enhance access to markets, services, and employment opportunities, particularly in rural areas.

In conclusion, the anti-corruption crusader called for the collective effort to create a brighter future for all Ghanaians in the coming year. By implementing effective policies to reduce poverty, improve education and healthcare access, and stimulate economic growth, he expressed optimism in building a more prosperous and equitable society in 2024.
