The journey of the 2019 Miss Commonwealth Ghana beauty pageant has ended successfully on Saturday 7th September at Swiss Spirit Hotel and Suit Alisa in Accra where 16 elegant ladies showed up to get a chance to change the course of their lives.
The 16 delegates, were taken through an intensive grooming and learning processes which are to shape them into assets for society.
From communications to the catwalk, personal outlook to entrepreneurial skills and others.
These charming ladies also embarked on various charity projects to help put a smile on the faces of the less-privileged in the society.
Fifi Coleman, Akumaa Mamazimbi, Fredrick Jaden Aboagye Bekoe and Miss Taniya Khan (Miss Commonwealth International Asia Pacific) were judges for the night as Kojo Dasebre steered affairs as host of the event.
The ladies left nothing to chance as they all delivered very powerful speeches and satisfying responses to the questions from the judges for the night.
However, the 16 delegates were shortlisted to 5 based on the accumulated votes. The list was then narrowed to 3 contestants who were judged based on the answers they provided to questions relating to social issues of which education, peace et al featured vividly.
Highlife musician, Bless, then claimed the stage and entertained the audience with his hit song “Chocho Mucho” the resounding reception proved, he is very much loved.
Later, all the 16 delegates, were invited back to the stage as various awards and certificate of participation was presented to them.

14. Miss Role Model: Nana Ama Essien
15. Best Gown: Sabina
Overall, it was a night to remember as all the ladies displayed courage and effort to win the crown but there can always only be one queen.
Eventually, Gloria Obeng Nyarko, a student of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) was crowned the winner of Miss Commonwealth Ghana 2019, she walks home with a brand new Kia Morning, Ghc5000.00 cash prize and a trip to the United Kingdom.
While Portia Ahenkan Agyemang takes the first runner-up with a cash prize of Ghc 3,000 cedis and other souvenirs from the sponsors.And a trip to represent Ghana in India for Miss Multinational.
Sheidelle Annor, emerged as the second runner-up with a cash prize of Ghc 2,000 cedis and other souvenirs from the sponsors, will also travel to India.
The pageant which is a subsidiary of Miss Commonwealth International is empowered by the Princess Duncan Foundation and supported by the Centre of Awareness Global Peace Mission.
Chief Executive Officer of the foundation, Miss Princess Duncan, who is also Miss Commonwealth International 2017, said she set up the beauty pageant after she represented Ghana in the Miss Commonwealth International 2017 beauty pageant and was crowned the queen.
On his part the Chief Executive Officer of the Centre of Awareness Global Peace Mission, Prof. Dr. Samuel Ato Duncan, who chaired the occasion noted that his outfit supported the Princess Duncan’s beauty pageant initiative because she was championing a good course to support young women in Ghana and also the vulnerable in the society.
Prof. Dr Samuel Ato Duncan, reiterated that the Centre will continue to sponsor the pageant to ensure global peace , adding that beauty pageant organization also promoted global peace.
