Mr Henry Adomako Oduro, the Chairman of Communication Workers Union of the Ghana News Agency (GNA), on Wednesday called on workers to eschew acts of indiscipline and support Management to succeed.
“It is important for workers to offer utmost support to strengthen the GNA brand. There should be teamwork and renewed commitment to giving our all to make things better for the Agency,” he added.
Mr Oduro said this in a statement to congratulate workers of the Agency as they joined thousands of the workforce worldwide to mark the 2019 May Day.
He said workers must exhibit selflessness and accept to make sacrifices towards the growth of the Agency.
He urged the GNA Workers, in particular, and the general workforce to recommit nation building.
“The May Day is a time to remind ourselves that in spite of the constraints we have been struggling with due to years of neglect, the GNA still stands very tall in the media,” he said.
“The Agency is respected for its demonstrably accurate, objective, fair and balanced news stories.”
Mr Oduro said even though the Union would continue to ensure that the rights of the worker were protected, he urged them to do what was right and work hard to meet set targets.
“As we join the rest of the world to mark May Day, let us agree to put the past mistakes behind us and focus on uniting our efforts to make GNA a better place for everybody,” he said.
