The staff of the GNPC Foundation together with the management of the Karela FC Beach have organised a clean-up exercise to rid the frontiers of the resort of filth.
The exercise, was initiated by Dr Kwame Baah-Nuako, who expressed concern about the continuous throwing of garbage into the sea, which is normally washed ashore after rains.
He therefore organised his staff supported by the Karela FC team to clean the over 5- kilometre stretch of the coast of sea weed, polythene bags and other waste materials that were denting the beauty of the sea borderline.
Dr Baah-Nuako said health and safety were one cardinal pillar of the company’s operation and was therefore bent on ensuring that communities in which industry players did business was safe
He encouraged the communities to stop open defecation along the beaches adding, “We are rolling out lots of socially responsive programmes to curb such situations in our operating communities.”
The two groups, later engaged in supporting activities and other fun games to commemorate the May Day.
