A 172- page book that seeks to awaken man, who swayed from God’s standards or the path of righteousness, to return to his source (God) has been launched in Accra.
The book christened “God’s 7th Day Agenda” emanated from lessons through the nuggets of truth on God’s mission for mankind, the church, incarnation and dispensation of grace among other thematic concerns.
Primarily targeted at people from all religious faith, the book which comes in two different volumes, had the volume one launched with the subtitle “The quest to gain man”. Invariably, God will rarely conduct any mission on earth without involving man. Man is a useful vessel in accomplishing what God wants to do. Man is, therefore, an essential component of God’s workings, hence the subtitle.
Authored by Emmanuel Quarshie, a finance-oriented person who has God’s kingdom business at heart said the launch of volume one of God’s 7th Day Agenda has seven chapter headings: 1. God’s Mission for Mankind; 2. Chosen and Called; 3. The Special People; 4. Incarnation: Divinity Assumes Humanity; 5. The Bride; 6. Dispensation of Grace and finally, 7. Guidance.
Speaking at the launch, which was graced by scores of people including ministers of the gospel and well-wishers, Mr. Quarshie indicated that the book chronicles the garden of Eden, the call of Abraham, lessons to be gleaned from Israel’s walk with God, the turning point of the cross where the substitutionary death and resurrection of Jesus brought humanity a new phase of life.
These steps, he reiterated would finally look forward with hope to the New Jerusalem where God would dwell with His people in eternity.
According to Mr. Quarshie, everyone has an agenda he or she pursues and that passion drives such an individual to do his or her utmost best and God also has an agenda for His kingdom.
“God has always had an agenda even before He set out to create the universe, and Genesis chapter two which summarises God’s eternal purpose that spans from generation to generation and till the end of the world; until this is realised, God’s work would be incomplete”, he observed.
He said God is supposed to be resting but due to fall of man as recorded in Genesis 3, He is still working tirelessly to shape the ways of mankind for salvation and eternity. “In Mark 16:15, the Lord Jesus Christ charged His disciples and by extension all believers to go into the world and proclaim the good news which is the gospel to all mankind”, he said.
The fulfilment of this, he said would happen in Mathew 24:14 by pontificating the gospel of the kingdom using the right approach before the end of the world comes. Mr. Quarshie admonished Christians to have confidence in drawing close to the throne of grace and that would help in obtaining mercy and finding grace in time of need as alluded in Hebrews 4:14-16.
According to the Author, Volume two of God’s 7th Day Agenda should be launched by December 2022 and is subtitled “Rest on the Horizon”‘, which is a little over 200pages. It also has 7 chapters with the following chapters: 1…..And I Will Build My Church; 2. The Body of Christ; 3. Building Assassins; 4. Church Life and Practices; 5. Heaven, Our Priority?; 6. Getting Prepared and 7. Passing the Baton.
He added that arrangements are in place to get the books at various bookshops including challenge book shop for patrons who would like to obtain a copy of the book, and pledged to donate 50 per cent of the net proceeds from the sale of the book to help make life a bit bearable to an orphanage in Accra with children living with HIV.
