Kotoko Team Manager Denies Instigating Fans During Medeama Clash
Kotoko team manager Godwin Ablordey has rebuffed allegations he instigated rioting fans in their bad-tempered clash against Medeama SC last Wednesday.
Assistant referee Alidu Salif Malik accused Ablordey of masterminding the attack on the match officials.
But the former Kotoko captain has denied the claims and insists he had no hand in the unfortunate episode.
?That referee (AS Malik) hates Kotoko and so I am not suprised at all with these accusations he?s making against me?. Ablordey told Sunyani-based Suncity Radio.
?Last year he was the same man who nearly fought with coach Maxwell (Konadu). He also robbed Kotoko against Chelsea in Accra so he has that record?.
?How can I single-handedly instigate fans from all corners of the stadium? I stood innocently on the pitch while the referees were been guarded into the tunnel.?
?What I want the authorities to do is to watch the match and all the incidents on television again and everybody will realise where I was during those incidents?.
The Ghana FA is yet to sanction the club following the crowd trouble at the Baba Yara stadium
