GOIL Company Limited on Thursday announced its COVID-19 operational schedules in conformity with World Health Organisation and National Health Protocols towards the prevention and spread of the coronavirus in the country.
As part of the measures, GOIL Head Office and Zonal Offices would open from 0900 hours to 1400 hours daily from Monday to Friday, a statement signed by Mr Robert Kyere of the GOIL Corporate Affairs Department and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra has stated.
The statement said customers could still carry on transactions such as payment for coupons and top-up or loading of GOCards at the Head office at Adabraka and Zonal offices in Accra behind Japan Motors and in Tema.
The statement said all GOIL Filling Stations would operate fully but station attendants would strictly adhere to social distancing protocols.
The statement said in pursuant to mitigate the social-economic impact of COVID-19 on the citizenry, GOIL has reduced fuel prices marginally.
The statement said GOIL management is aware of the potential occupational exposures to coronavirus and the hazards to which staff may be exposed, and has therefore provided hand sanitizers and Personal Protective Equipment for use by all its front line officials.
It said the main door to its offices will be manned by a security guard who will be solely responsible for opening and closing of the front doors, whilst hand sanitizers have been provided at the reception.
It said customers and visitors are required to sanitize their hands, take a temperature check and complete a health screening questionnaire.
GOIL is urging the public to strictly adhere to the health protocols, stay at home, wash hands regularly, use hand sanitizers often and if necessary used face mask if one is coughing or exhibit any signs of COVID-19.
