In what will be one of the major law suits to be slapped against the Bank of Ghana (BoG), newsghana.com.gh has learnt that the Association of Gold Exporters of Ghana has sued BoG to for the recent regulations introduced for the sector.
According to th new regulation, the BoG has appointed the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC) as the company responsible for issuing certificates for gold exporters in the country.
The association believes the move is flawed as it will grant PMMC, an undue advantage because they are also a player in the mineral sector.
They have therefore filed a case in court for the reversal of the regulation. The BoG is yet to responf to the suit.
