The Kanda and Ruga community ready to meet on Friday 6th December 2019 as Goodies Radio holds its first-ever street carnival.
The event organised by Easy Street entertainment in association with the Zongo Hype show aims to bond neighbouring sister communities together in music and entertainment.
As part of activities to mark the event, the staff of Goodies Radio and community members will undertake communal labour within the neighbourhood and surrounding areas from 7 am to 11 am. An education campaign on health and sanitation practices will also take place.
The festivity is expected to kick off at 3 pm and will feature over 50 mainstream musicians and underground artistes drawing people from Nima, Mamobi, Newtown, and Pigfarm.
According to Jeff Acquaah, the CEO of Goodies Radio, the central purpose of the show is to bring all adjoining communities together in a day of fun and merrymaking.
He said the street carnival is one of many initiatives that aim to create an atmosphere that fosters unity and friendship amongst community members.
Mr Acquaah explained that Zongo communities have long shared similar interests and experiences and it was only right to bring them together to celebrate and promote a friendship that has spurred the development and progress of the locality.
He said the vision of the Radio station is to serve as development partners for the community and will, therefore, use the radio space to advocate and promote socially responsible programmes.
Mr Acquaah expressed confidence that with the support of community leaders’, Goodies Radio will delve into pertinent issues like youth development, health awareness, sensitisation on child rights and supporting community structures on women empowerment.
Promising to be an unforgettable street party, the one day fun-packed carnival will treat guests to a celebration of music, fun and spectacular stage performances.
People from all over the capital and distant locations are encouraged to join the carnival and relish memorable vibes and lasting memories.
