Government reachs deal with Ghana Medical Association

Mr Haruna Iddrisu, Minister of Employment and Labour Relations on Tuesday, announced that government has succeeded in reaching a deal with the Ghana Medical Association, with regards to their demand for a Codified Conditions of Service for its members.


Doctors strike newHe said after several meetings and negotiations, the Employer which was Government has succeeded in designing a Codified Conditions of Service for Medical Doctors, to serve as their Terms of reference to their jobs.

Mr Iddrisu, who mentioned this at the Ministry’s turn of the Meet-the Press series in Accra, however failed to give further details, saying, government was still at the negotiating table with other health workers and would give full details of the outcome of proceedings at a much appropriate date.

He thanked all who contributed in diverse ways to ensure the quality outcome of the various negotiating sessions and gave the assurance that government was not only committed towards ensuring better health care for all Ghanaians, but also consider its workforce as a vital part of the success story.
