The world over, governments are devising new and innovative ways to turn the Covid-19 pandemic to their gains especially in the areas of boosting socio-economic opportunities for citizens, and Ghana is no exception.
The government in a bid to ensure that Ghana is on track to becoming a country reliant on its own resources, capacities and uniqueness will be hosting a forum on Covi-19 and Ghana Beyond Aid. This was contained in a press release cited by NewsGhana and signed by the Deputy Minister for Information Pius Enam Hadzide and the Secretary to the Ghana Beyond Aid Committee Dr Eric Yeboah.
“The Covid-19 pandemic has further highlighted the importance of the President’s vision of Ghana Beyond Aid”, the statement read.
According to Deputy Minister for Information, the forum will form part of efforts of the government to step up education and social mobilization towards achieving the vision of the Ghana Beyond Aid Committee. The forum will be on the theme “COVID-19 and Our March towards Ghana Beyond Aid; Turning Adversity into Opportunity”.
The forum according to Mr Hadzide in the release will empanel distinguished personalities such as Archbishop Charles G. Palmer-Buckle, respected economist Mr Kwame Pianin, Dr Yaw Adu Gyamfi president of AGI, Mr Lawrence Agyinsam, CEO EXIM Bank and president of NUGS, Jay Hyde.
