Government Vehicles To Be Re-registrated

The Transport Ministry is to?embark?on a re-registration exercise for motor vehicles belonging to government on Monday.?

Bulletproof CarsIn a press statement issued by the Ministry and signed by the Sector Minister, Dzifa Attivor stated that ?special registration plates have been designed for all motor vehicles belonging to government for ease of identification.??

The exercise is aimed at ensuring the ?judicious application of government expenditure specifically on the utilization of government vehicles in Ghana as part of Government desire to prudently manage public resources.?

In a press release, the Minister of Transport indicated that His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama directed that proactive systems be implemented to monitor the movement and utilization of all motorized vehicles belonging to Government.?

“This is to ensure a judicious application of Government expenditure specifically on the utilization of government vehicles in Ghana as part of Government desire to prudently manage public resources. ……Pursuant to this directive, the Ministry of Transport through the Driver and?Vehicle?Licensing Authority(DVLA) will from 6th January 2014 embark on a re-registration exercise for motor vehicles belonging to Ministries, Departments and Agencies as well as the Regional Coordinating Councils, Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies in Ghana.”

The DVLA, she stated, has designed special registration plates for all motor vehicles belonging to government for ease of identification.?

Details of this new system will be made known to the public at a press?conference?to be addressed by the Honorable Minister of Transport Dzifa Attivor on Monday January 6, 2014 at 10AM at the Ministry of Information and Media Relations.?
