The men’s team of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) struggled to beat Kenyan’s Wazalendo in a crucial match-day two-game played at the Theodosia Okoh Hockey in Accra.
The game ended 1-0 in favour of the Ghanaian team in the ongoing Africa Club Championship Cup (ACCC).
Marching unto the pitch, GRA and Wazalendo were chasing for glory as they both lost their first games by 2-1 to Tairat and Zamalek respectively.
In the first half, the game was intense as both teams knew that this was a must-win for them.
Ebenezer Arthur of the GRA managed to convert one of their many goal-scoring opportunities to give his side the lead.
Wazalendo in the other half were poised on getting the equalizer as they tried countless times but seemed impossible to score.
Joseph Ndung’u, the head coach of Wazalendo in his post-game interview said despite his side lost, they draw positives from the game and commended his team’s defence for playing very well regardless of conceding.
Coach Joseph Mason of the GRA said his team was on course to win gold.
