The two-day event themed “United we stand” is open to athletes aged 16 and above with an invitation extended to Togo.

The Chairman of the Greater Accra Taekwondo Association (GATA), Mr. Norbert Amefu, said the Association settled on the theme because ‘‘ we are apart and we need to stand firm and united to save the sport from collapsing”.

According to Mr. Amefu, the competition is to build and select athletes for the Regional team, saying that, “we believes there are talents in the sport but lacks the adequate training.

He urged participants to take advantage of the competition because it would involve experienced practitioners, whom they can learn a lot from.’’

After the two two-day event, certificates, medals and cash prizes will be awarded to deserving participants.
