A group calling itself citizens living within the Ledzokuku Krowor Municipality (LEKMA) have called for investigations into what it described as the reckless management of the assembly`s resources by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon Daniel Amartey and for his removal from office.

Addressing the media, the Coordinator of the group Mr Daniel Alarbi raised a number of allegations against the MCE which he said are rife with evidences that when probed will end the corrupt practices of the MCE. The group has therefore called on the President of the Republic to intervene.

According to the group, Hon Amartey has within a period of six years putting up a number of private properties for himself and the Presiding Member of the assembly at various locations. The group also alleged that the MCE has opened 12 different accounts at six different banks in the name of the assembly with unknown signatories and wonders what kind of business the assembly was engaged in to warrant so many bank accounts.

In the words of Mr Daniel Alarbi who is also the Youth Coordinator and Head of Security for the NDC within the municipality, the MCE is also engaged in conflict of interest in the awards of contracts by the assembly to ghost companies. The group described the Human Relations of the MCE as autocratic, snobbish and employs divide and rule tactics in his management styles which it said has brought about discord and divisions of the assembly`s operational levels.

Hon Daniel Amartey is also accused of engaging in separatist politics and instigating the two main traditional areas of the municipality, Teshie and Nungua against each other whist meddling in chieftaincy matters of determining who becomes a chief.

The group who provided pictures of the alleged buildings owned by the MCE urged all party faithful, all persons of interest within the municipality to join hands in demanding for the right things to be done.
