At least seven civilians were shot dead on Saturday as about twenty armed individuals stormed into Kantari village in eastern Burkina Faso, Stated owned news agency AIB reported on Sunday evening.
Citing security sources, the news agency said a retired gendarme and former municipal councilor were also killed in the attack on the Kantari village in Tapoa province.
In a recent move, Burkina Faso army dismantled a base for terrorists and killed at least 15 suspected terrorists in Pama locality, in the East region.
The west-African country is marred by a worsening security situation on the basis of daily attacks mostly in northern regions.
To curb the scourge, Burkina Faso army has stepped up security measures with air strikes and ground operations in some most troubled areas of the country. Enditem
