American-born Ghanaian Gyasi Zardes netted the consolation goal for LA Galaxy as they slipped to a painful 2-1 loss at FC Dallas in the America Major League Soccer on Saturday night.

The 23-year-old Hawthorne-born?headed home a corner kick from Stefan Ishizaki in the 59th minute, nodding the ball down to the far post where it bounced past leaping goalkeeper Dan Kennedy.

FC Dallas overturned a 1-0 deficit with 30 minutes to play, scoring two goals inside the final 13 minutes to defeat the defending MLS Cup champions LA Galaxy 2-1.

Gyasi had struck the opener for LA after a barren opening 45 minutes but the host staged a strong performance in the dying embers of the game to snatch all three points from the game.

He has scored twice in nine starts for LA since the start of the season.

The attacker who has represented the United States at senior level in international friendlies, was born to Ghanaian parents in the USA and it seems he has chosen to feature for the Americans.

He becomes the second Ghanaian to play for the USA after Borussia Dortmund?s Joseph Claude-Gyau was also featured by Jurgen Klinsmann in his squad.
