Ghana as a country has encountered series of disasters as a result of not putting pro-active measures in place to curtail the menace.
For instance, the recent gas explosion at Atomic Junction in Accra and the June 3, flood disaster which occurred at Circle, Adabraka are similar unfortunate incidence which could have been prevented.
These disasters will forever remain indelible in the minds of many, a blot on a city, a day of great depression to a nation.
But it is obvious that, as at now, safety issues in the country has not been taken more seriously.
In order to avert the recurring of similar disasters there is an urgent need for guidelines to help manage and improve safety and health at the workplace.
