Ghana utility player Harrison Afful says the Black Stars will have to qualify for the AFCON first before any talks of winning the trophy.
The Black Stars have failed to win the AFCON since their last triumph in 1982, in between that Ghana has been losing finalist on three occasions two to Ivory Coast in 1992 and 2015 and the other to Egypt in 2010.
The Black Stars have been drawn in Group H which houses Mauritius, Mozambique and a resurgent Rwanda.
The Stars are favorites to sail through without breaking a sweat but Afful who has down the years been a consistent performer for both club and country says he is just fixed on taking qualification one step at a time.
?The most important thing is to qualify first and that is not easy you have to get it right and work for everything,? Afful told Ghanasoccernet.com
?Most people talk about easy games but I do not see them that way I just add seriousness to every game and after we can look and see if there is an opportunity to make history.?
?We have a group which I know will be competitive and have to work hard to make all possible.?
