Troubled Accra Hearts of Oak will engage Premier League compatriots West Africa Soccer Academy [WAFA] in a pre-season friendly tomorrow at Sogakope.
The management of the former Premier League champions have come under immense criticism for not signing big-name players ahead of the coming season meanwhile new coach Kenichi Yatshuhashi has shortlisted some players for transfer.
The troubled Accra-based club will be guests to the Soccer Mathematicians on Saturday in the afternoon as both clubs are seriously preparing for the upcoming season.
The two sides met twice in the just ended season and the Phobians emerged stronger after winning the first round battle by a lone goal and drawing gaoless in the second round.
The WAFA side will be without instrumental midfielder Majeed Ashmeru who has travelled for trials as well as Gideon Waja while Phobians will miss the services of Paul Acquah and Eric Kumi who are all nursing injuries.
The game which is supposed to be part of the pre-season preparations for both teams is expected to sharpen the Hearts side ahead of the international friendly with Ahly Tripoli in Libya next week.
The Phobians who escaped relegation with a superior head-to-head advantage are expected to replicate their previous form which saw them win the league on six consecutive occasions from 2003 to 2009.
