President of the Ghana Rugby Union Mr. Herbert Mensah last Monday hosted the Renaissance Team that is trying to unseat the now unpopular Prof. Francis Dodoo administration at his Osu residence.
The Renaissance Team led by President of the Ghana Weightlifting Federation (GWF) Ben Nunoo Mensah brief him on the situation on the grounds and the last minute tactics to be played to ensure fairness and transparency in the upcoming elections.
Herbert Mensah who has been overseas for some time commended the Team that want to bring democracy, transparency and unity among the sports federations in Ghana.
Most of the details of the meeting were held behind closed doors but they interacted with a few invited media afterwards,
Aspiring secretary general Sahnoon Mohmmed said they suspect rigging of the election by the incumbent and have informed appropriate adjudication bodies about some petty issues.
He was optimistic that the issues could be solved and all parties will understand with satisfaction.
Some federation Presidents who addressed the media were Theo Edzie Swimming Association; Rev. Nikoi Netball Association; Nana Mankattah Mass Sports Association; George Addo Ghana Scrabble Association and Paul Atchoe President of the Ghana Volleyball Association.
All of them want a transparent, free and fair elections as well as the respect of the decisions of Congress.
The Ghana Olympic Committee goes to the polls on Wednesday at the Alisa Hotel.
