High amounts of chlorine in water has affected some thousand UK families

Water company Severn Trent Water issued a warning to its customers on Friday that higher than normal levels of chlorine at one of its service reservoirs in Derbyshire was found.

Approximately 3,700 properties in this area remain affected, said Severn Trent Water on Saturday, adding that the company is working hard to get water supplies back to normal as quickly as possible.

“We’re making good progress with flushing the system and will come back with an update for all our customers by lunchtime,” it said.

The company has supplied bottled water for affected residents. Enditem
