The programme also aims to create a networking platform for participants and stakeholders in the world of work.
Dr Ellen Hagan, the Chief Executive Officer of L’aine Services and HR Focus Magazine at the maiden edition of the event, said having won three awards in the recent HR Focus Awards, 2015 MTN Ghana was selected to host the session.
She said the session was to give HR professionals the opportunity to engage and share ideas that would help transform and enhance their practice.
Mrs Hagan said HR practice in Ghana was encouraging yet there was so much unchartered territory which could be explored and adapted to the benefit of organisations and indeed the nation as a whole.
She said there was an incredible number of issues facing organisations including environmental pressure, rapid technological change and tougher competition.
Dr Hagan said with all these going on, there was the need for the human resource function to play a critical role in helping organisations navigate through those transitions.
“HR has no option but to increase its real and perceived value,” she said.
Mrs Ama Benneh-Amponsah, the MTN Ghana Human Resource Executive, sharing MTN’s unique practice, said engagement and feedback was a priority to the company.
She said it was important for HR executives to pay particular attention to relationship building in their organisations to improve on productivity.
“HR executives need to constantly learn and engage with their employees to improve on their duties,” she said.
Mrs Benneh-Amponsah said organisations through their HR management had to develop a lot of training and development opportunities for their staff to enhance their skills and capacity.
She said management of MTN Ghana had made it simple and comfortable for employers to freely share ideas and collaborate to get tasks done and ensure accountability.
Mr Samuel Addo, the General Manager of MTN Business, speaking on: “Business Solution for Growth Minded Business,” said MTN information communication technology solution could provide HR ability to monitor staff engagement, mobility and cost effective communication.
He called on CEOs to take advantage of the MTN data centres to protect their content and improve on their businesses.
As part of the event HR Focus Magazine launched the “HR Focus Conference 2016” on the theme: “Technology Driven HR; People, Processes and Performance,” to be held in September.
The conference would include HR forum, career development session and corporate exhibitions.
