asem on solid grounds
Just like Karma, the rape scandal that hit Ghanaian Rapper Cum CEO of WBDN records,Nana Wiafe Asante Mensah, known in Showbiz circles as Asem somewhere last year seems to rear its ugly head anytime he gets the media platform. But the ‘Gimme blow’ crooner seems not to be perturbed by what he calls a failed defamation attempt. He however expressed worry over how friends and family had to carry that problem.Speaking on the issue again he clearly denied knowledge of the girl in question to whom he is accused to have sexually assaulted but refused to go further on the issue since it was a purely legal affair.
Asem further stated that, upon studying journalism and bracing himself with the ‘inside outs’ of the practice at the Ghana Institute of Journalism,He anticipated all these problems before entering music. He also made it known that his problem was the least of celebrity scandals since many other celebrities worldwide have been victims of all these attempts.
When the issue of why he left Lynx Entertainment was raised,he said that he did not leave Lynx because of a fight with Richie as rumoured but rather termed it a Career directional move. This was to enable him thread the path he wanted which was contrary to that of lynx.He also without fear noted that the Lynx label after he left has not been big as it used to be though Eazzy,Zigi,OJ Blaq and Richie were doing fine.He however quickly likened it to the likes of Justin Timberlake who had their Prime time a while ago.
The GLO Ambassador says that the proceeds from the endorsement deal has been good to him. When asked if he agreed to people’s assertion that he is the ‘2Pac’ of Ghana,Asem quick rrejected that claim and said ‘I am the Asem of Ghana’.
Meanwhile,Asem’s ‘Solid Ground’ album is out now on iTunes and the Silverbird lifestyle Shop.It has excellent branding with he (Asem) standing on the Gaza Strip between Israel and Palestine.
