Jamaican Reggae superstar Beenie Man says he has never caught COVID-19 following reports of him testing positive on his arrival in Ghana for the annual Bhim Concert.
Despite being asked by health authorities to isolate himself for some days Beenie Man was seen performing at the Bhim Concert having gone round the media space for various interviews prior to the concert.
The reggae icon was prevented from leaving the shores of Ghana, after the concert, with his passport under lawful custody.
But Beenie Man posted on Twitter: “Update to my fans who are genuinely reaching out. I have no Covid, never caught Covid before, tested negative for Covid. Been traveling for the past six months Covid free. Fully vaccinated. I guess someone wants me to have Covid…”
The reggae star however said Ghana was the best place to be in the world having thanked Ghanaian musician Stonebwoy for the love and support as well as the Government of Ghana.
Beenie Man is expected to depart the shores of Ghana later on Tuesday as facilitates the process of getting his passport released by Ghana Immigration.
