One of Ghana’s finest female TV personality cum entrepreneur Enam Gbedevi has stated with no trepidation that, she will definitely become the first female president in Ghana.

This ambitious lady who made her intentions known in exclusive noted that ever since Ghana as a country started practicing democracy none of the two biggest political parties have never fielded a female candidate or running mate. This is extremely appalling.

“For instance, in 2012, the former first lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings lost miserably in her attempt to challenge then-President John Atta Mills as a candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The story is not different in developed democracies because the majority of the women who tried to achieve this ambition failed woefully. Only a few women were given the opportunity. To be candid, these stories are not encouraging.

In the UK, there have been only two female Prime Ministers, Margaret Thatcher, and most recently, Theresa May. I think this is the right time for women to stand tall and change the narrative,” she opined.

It is in this regard, I have been working assiduously to lay a solid foundation to enable me to achieve this political ambition. I know this would sound weird to many people but I’m not discouraged.

The young exuberant lady who is also a Co-host on Opambours Npaso, said it is a high time for Ghana as a country to have a female President because women play a very pivotal role when it comes to nation-building.

Especially when it comes to the fight against corruption which is has been hampering Ghana’s progress for ages.

Madam Enam Gbedevi also seized the opportunity to advise her fellow women to endevour to support another in order to help achieve the desired results. ” Let us unite and also aspire higher in life. it is time to change the narrative. Together we can make it,” she echoed.
