The Newly installed Chief for Nigeria Community in Dome and Kwabenya, Dr. Tony Ulasi now Eze-Udo has assured that he will try his best and work to sanitize the area with respect to reducing crime and other social vices in his jurisdiction.
According to him, before his coronation, he had already had an interaction with his Nigerian residents in the Dome-Kwabenya area on the way forward in making the area a better place.
“My plans for the area is to work hard and sanitize the area because it is clear that once in a while you will see some crime coming up and the majority are reported to be my fellow Nigerians. So I decided to accept to be on this seat to prove to Ghanaians that all Nigerians are not criminals,” the Chief assured.
On the sideline of a colorful coronation, he stated “I am here to work with both the Police and anybody that needs my assistance to sanitize the area in general so that we create a new face for Nigeria in this neighborhood.
“I have already called them for a meeting and after this particular day within the next few days, I will swing into action by trying my best and advise them on better ways of life,” he added.
The colorful ceremony was attended by the Nigeria Community in Ghana and the representatives of various tribes from Nigeria who are residents in Ghana as some traditional leaders in Ghana.
Dr. Ulasi further stated that “we Nigerians and Ghanaians are the same people so when we can build a solid foundation on understanding, unity and live in co-existence in our relationship.”
The Ga Kingmaker for Dome-Kwabenya, who was present at the occasion on his part asked the Nigerian community in the area to be law-abiding and respect the tradition.
“We have to respect the law and tradition and as you all know the law has no respect for anyone. So if you are an Ibo man and woman you must respect our tradition and the laws here so that you are not caught by it,” he stated.
