Lt. General H.H Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, received the ?Best Community Policing Practices Award? in solving problems awarded by the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) in the USA to the Community Police Department at Abu Dhabi Police.
Todd A Miller, Chief of Police in Mankato City, Minnesota, handed over the award to H.H Sheikh Saif, in the presence of Lt. Colonel Mubarak Bin Muhairom, Head of the Community Police Department at Abu Dhabi Police.
Lt. Colonel Bin Muhairom gave HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan a brief overview of the award, where the UAE outranked over 50 participant countries for the same category with the ?Safer Schools Partnership? project that was carried out in cooperation with the Community Policing and Police Sciences Institute in Abu Dhabi, according to the best international methodologies in problem solving.
The project achieved optimum results and gained community members? satisfaction. It was highly appraised by the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) panel of judges, which judged more than 50 documents from all over the world in the category: Population of 250,000+, and earned the Community Police team the prestigious award.
The Head of the Community Police Department explained that obtaining the award embodies the directives of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior to see that the Abu Dhabi Police becomes a role model in police work to be emulated globally.
