Inspector General of Police (IGP) George Akuffo Dampare has called for unity and cooperation among political parties as Ghana approaches the 2024 General Election.

During a visit to the municipal electoral offices at the Old EC head office in Ridge, Accra, on August 2, 2024, Dampare, accompanied by members of the police management board, reviewed security arrangements for the ongoing voter registration exercise.

In his address to political party agents present at the site, Dampare emphasized the importance of harmonious cooperation.

“We are all working together. Let’s continue this spirit of cooperation. It’s about Ghana, it’s about Africa, and it’s about ensuring a better future for our children,” he said.

Dampare expressed satisfaction with the peaceful collaboration observed among the agents and encouraged them to maintain this attitude.

“Because we can coexist peacefully, let’s accomplish our tasks without conflict. I am pleased to see you working together and sharing meals,” he added.

The IGP’s remarks highlighted the significance of maintaining unity during the electoral process, underscoring the impact of Ghana’s example on the continent.

“We work together to make Ghana proud, Africa proud, and the Black man proud. Thank you very much,” Dampare concluded.

His visit and comments aim to reinforce the commitment to a peaceful electoral environment and foster a sense of collective responsibility among all stakeholders.
